SCENE ONE
A Small Bedroom, Alderbarren
The bedroom is decorated in pink wallpaper with posters of cartoon 
characters around the room. On the floor is a single chair and several 
stuffed toys. CRYSTAL is reading a book in bed, when the door opens. 
QUEEN KATRINA steps into the room, and closes the door behind her.

CRYSTAL: Hello, Grandma. 

KATRINA: Hello, Crystal. Now, Felicia tells me that you're having 
premonitions about something.

CRYSTAL: (Uneasily) Yes, Grandma.

KATRINA: Would you like to show them to me?

CRYSTAL: Well, all right.

CRYSTAL'S spell gems glow slightly, and visions begin to pour out.

SCENE TWO
A Church, Genus, Year 3236. 
A wedding march is playing, as DEADEYE is seen walking down the aisle 
in a smart tuxedo and well-polished shoes. His bride is NATALIE, 
wearing an overall white dress with elbow-length gloves and glass 
slippers. Assuming the role of bridesmaid is JENNY, with one or two 
grey hairs appearing amidst her flowing pink hair. BUCKY is the best 
man, and is wearing a smart forest green outfit with silver lining and 
neatly polished brass buttons. BUCKY is also beginning to grey, and he 
moves toward JENNY as the church is cleared.

BUCKY: (Murmurs) Reminds me of our wedding.

JENNY: What a day that was! 

BUCKY: It had taken several years for us to patch up our differences, 
but we married in the end. Let's get those photos taken and drink 
ourselves silly at the party!

They clamber into a smooth, streamlined hovercar painted overall silver 
and drive right behind NATALIE'S hovercar that is a shade of deep 
yellow and has a sign on the back reading "Finally Married."

SCENE THREE
The ST Mothership, Sector 9, Space
KOMPLEX is speaking to CAPTAIN PRITCHARD, now wrinkled and wearing a 
uniform with better quality.

KOMPLEX: Is everything in order, Major?

PRITCHARD: Yes, sir. Captain Carne has just finished debriefing our 
entire ST Army. I'm pleased that the ST is making progress at last!

KOMPLEX: So you should be. I have picked those three platoons myself, 
and now that the ST has doubled in size, I am certain that you can 
prove yourself worthy to me. 

PRITCHARD: (Dramatic Voice) But I am worthy, mighty KOMPLEX. I bow down 
to your wisdom!

KOMPLEX: Flattery will get you nowhere, Major Pritchard. Begin the 
invasion of Genus at once!

PRITCHARD salutes, and the screen goes blank. The Mothership soon gets 
underway and moves off.

SCENE FOUR
Genus Retirement Home
The Retirement Home is a dreary small hut with bland wallpaper and very 
dull-looking framed pictures hanging on the walls. COMMANDER DOGSTAR is 
sat in an armchair reading a newspaper. He has greyed considerably, 
with only some patches of his original fur. He still wears his old 
service cap, but is now wearing a neat navy-blue tuxedo with creases 
all over. There is a knock on the door, and BUCKY comes in with JENNY. 
BUCKY is now wearing a light-blue outfit similar to his old uniform, 
while JENNY is still wearing her Alderbarren armour.

DOGSTAR: (Laughs feebly) Ah! Rear Admiral O' Hare! How are you?

BUCKY: Fine, thanks Commander. How are they treating you?

DOGSTAR: Like a dog, my lad. Like a dog! I was just reading about 
Deadeye's Marriage. That Natalie's a lucky girl to be married to 
somebody like Deadeye. 

JENNY: I guess she made the right choice.

DOGSTAR: And the same can be said for you two lovebirds, eh? 

He laughs feebly, almost wheezing. 

DOGSTAR: (Calms down) Still, at least you two have got each other. I'm 
too old for that sort of thing. 

BUCKY: It's a pity things didn't work out with Andrew.

DOGSTAR: Who?

BUCKY: You know? Andrew? Sub-Lieutenant Norris?

DOGSTAR: (Realizes) Oh, yes! The Railway King. What happened to him, 
anyway?

JENNY: The love relationship just sank into a friendship, so he's still 
single.

A Grandfather Clock nearby strikes 9:00 am.

BUCKY: Oh, my stars! We're supposed to be at the meeting!

They run off, while DOGSTAR gets up.

DOGSTAR: The same time next week!

SCENE FIVE
UAC HQ, Genus
GRIFF is sitting in the Chairman's seat, assuming that he is now a 
Chairman. As his Vice-Chairman is a well built FOX in smart Mercenary 
clothing, with a gleam of adventure in his greenish eyes.

GRIFF: (Coughs) Now, I'd like to thank you all for the recent budget 
increase towards the UAC Space Fleet, and thus we have been able to 
purchase a new ship as an addition to the Fleet. Vice-Chairman Hush, 
would you do the honours?

THE FOX nods, and on a projector is a picture of a cuboid shaped 
spaceship only slightly larger than a conventional frigate. Gun turrets 
stand on both sides of the ship, one gun turret for each side. The ship 
itself is painted orange, with patches of silver still showing.

HUSH: (Husky voice) This is the Valiant, the first Assault Ship to have 
been constructed for the fleet. It will accompany our four frigates 
into the battle against the Toad Menace once we begin our planned 
attack to claim back Planet Proximis 4. 

GRIFF: And thanks to your votes, it has been decided on a crew. 

He reads a paper on his desk.

GRIFF: The commanding officer will be Captain Koosh. 

The council applaud.

GRIFF: As an on-board interrogator, Claude Psyche. 

The council applaud again.

GRIFF: And for the pilot, Vice-Chairman Hush.

HUSH: (Startled) Me, Chairman?

GRIFF: Well, you have been a jet-fighter pilot for several years, and 
you deserve it after you saved Queen Katrina's vessel from a meteor 
shower even with a sprained back. 

HUSH: Well, alright. I'll do it. 

SCENE SIX
The ST Mothership
MAJOR PRITCHARD is examining his army of Toads, double their original 
size. With him is CAPTAIN CARNE, his now frailer Lieutenant from the 
old days.

PRITCHARD: Excellent! 144 men we have now, Captain!

CARNE: (Feeble) Yes, sir. I have received information about a new ship 
for the UAC, but I don't believe that it is that dangerous.

PRITCHARD: What is this ship?

CARNE: A newly built assault ship, sir. They plan to send it alone to 
claim back Proximis 4. 

PRITCHARD: (Laughs) Alone? Are the mammals insane? We'll smash them the 
moment we reach their planet! Keep her on a steady course, Captain.

CARNE: Yes, sir.

SCENE SEVEN
Orwell Station, in orbit above Genus
The space station is crumbling slightly, but is still in one piece. 
MIMI is walking around the metal corridors that are leaking with oil. 
MIMI is now wearing a dark-red uniform with a golden crown sewn onto 
either of her shoulders. MIMI walks up to CORPORAL NASS, now wearing an 
olive-green uniform with the chevrons denoting the rank of Staff 
Sergeant.

NASS: (Salutes) Good morning, Major LaFleur.

MIMI: (Salutes back) Hey, Sergeant. Can you call up Brigadier Mew on 
the intercom for me? I can't find him.

NASS: As you wish, Major.

He flicks on his radio. 

NASS: (Into radio) This is Staff Sergeant Nass calling Brigadier Raul 
Mew, come in Brigadier Mew, over.

RAUL: (On Radio) Brigadier Mew, here. What's the problem Nass, over?

NASS: There's no problem sir, but your wife wishes to speak to you, 
over.

RAUL: Send her up to Bay 7-D. I'm waiting for the new crew of the 
Valiant. Brigadier Mew out.

MIMI: (Walks off) Thanks, Nass. I'll be up in Bay 7-D if you need me. 

SCENE EIGHT
Bay 7-D
The Valiant is standing amidst the small docking bay, and looks larger 
in reality than it does on any photograph. Present are BUCKY, JENNY, LT. 
WOLF and COLONEL RAUL MEW. Like the others, WOLF and RAUL are wearing 
different clothes. RAUL now wears an olive-green uniform similar to 
that worn by Brigadier Martin, while LT. WOLF wears overall battle 
armour with carvings of wolves made across the chest. 

RAUL: (Speaking on radio) Thank you, Andy. 

He switches off the radio.

RAUL: Sub-Lieutenant Norris is bringing up the new crew; they'll be 
here in a few minutes.

BUCKY: The faster they get here, the better. What say you, Brigadier?

RAUL: I couldn't agree more, Admiral. I'm pleased that we've finally 
got an actual UAC vessel that is not a frigate. 

WOLF:  (Deeper Voice) Here, here! It's taken us, what, ten years?

BUCKY: It's a pity that Dogstar can't be with us for the launch.

WOLF: True, Admiral. But remember that old soldiers never die.

RAUL: (Applauds) Well, said, Lieutenant Commander!

Enter ANDREW, HANNAH, HUSH, and two RABBITS. The two rabbits are very 
different. RABBIT #1 is dark-furred and dressed in an elegant business 
outfit with an officers' cap. RABBIT #2 is white-furred and wears a 
uniform similar to an American commando. ANDREW is now incredibly thin 
and has overall white hair with an incredibly wrinkled face. HANNAH is 
in the midst of her hair greying, and is starting to wrinkle.  

ANDREW: (Throaty voice) Here you are, Captain Koosh. The Valiant, all 
ship-shape for you.

DARK-FURRED RABBIT: (Low-pitched voice) Impressive from outward 
appearances. Let's hope the inside is just as good.

He salutes to BUCKY.

BUCKY: (To Dark-Furred Rabbit) Welcome aboard, Captain Koosh. I hope 
your ship works well.

KOOSH: So do I, Admiral O' Hare, sir. 

RAUL: You'll do fine, Captain. Just don't give her away in a raffle or 
something.

KOOSH laughs nervously, when MIMI arrives.

MIMI: Hey guys, did I miss anything?

BUCKY: Not at all, Major. We were just starting. 

WHITE-HAIRED RABBIT: (Middle-pitched voice) Excuse me, Brigadier Mew, 
sir, but you mentioned something about an Engineer.

RAUL: That's right Mr. Psyche, we signed him on shortly after the 
meeting. 

BUCKY: (Shouts) Lieutenant Drake, your fellow crew is here!

Out of the Valiant steps a black-furred FOX in a smart scarlet uniform 
with golden lining and heavy leather boots.

FOX: (Salutes) Lieutenant Drake reporting for duty sirs!

KOOSH: Well, let's get this tub afloat, then!

The crew all embark, saluting to RAUL and BUCKY as they enter the ship. 
With a whining of motors, the Valiant gets underway and flies off into 
space.

JENNY: There they go, off to do good in the Aniverse.

WOLF: Just like old times, eh?

MIMI: (Starts) Oh, I forgot to mention! The latest report from XL1.

HANNAH: Anything worth mentioning, Major?

MIMI: (Dully) Terrible news on Earth I'm afraid. 

BUCKY: In XL1's time zone?

MIMI: Yes. Due to a political crisis, the Third World War has begun. 
The declaration was on September 19th 2081. We have lost all contact 
with our Earth Agents and the last report came in just now.

She hands two sheets to RAUL and BUCKY. ANDREW looks downhearted.

BUCKY: (Reads sheet) "World Space Patrol and other space organisations 
in decline. New Labour has banned all Space Organisations." 

RAUL: What's all this gibberish here? Where it says: Tenalp mutt parish?

MIMI: The signal broke up at that point, sir. It appears the Black 
Holes' trajectory must've altered after it absorbed that White Dwarf in 
Sector 4. 

ANDREW starts walking off, while the others do not see the depressed 
look on his face.

SCENE NINE
The ST Mothership
CAPTAIN CARNE walks up to MAJOR PRITCHARD and salutes.

CARNE: We are in orbit of Genus, sir.

PRITCHARD: Very good, Captain. What have you to report?

CARNE: We have detected a Mammal vessel leaving the planet. We have 
identified one of the crew as Vice-Chairman Hush. 

PRITCHARD: (Thinks) < Hmm, why would a high-ranking member of the 
Security Council suddenly transfer to military duties? >

CARNE: Shall we attack sir?

PRITCHARD: Yes, Captain. Send out our squadron of Double Bubbles with 
orders to either capture the ship or destroy it. 

CARNE: (Salutes) Yes, sir.

Outside, the Mothership opens up and a fleet of black Double-Bubbles 
with the letters "ST" written in azure in Greek-style writing fly out 
and swarm the Valiant. 

INSIDE THE VALIANT
The interior is glowing a bright blue from the machinery, as KOOSH and 
HUSH examine the situation. 

KOOSH: (Grabs intercom) Drake! Open fire both port and starboard masers! 

Down in the Armoury, LT. DRAKE is sat in a console, linking the two 
maser cannons. He examines the screens with scrutinising eyes. DRAKE 
opens fire and destroys four Double-Bubbles in one shot.

DRAKE: I got the blighters! 

All of a sudden, a tractor beam from the Mothership pulls the Valiant 
inwards and the bay doors close behind it. 

SCENE TEN
The Toad Homeworld
KOMPLEX is observing some battle plans being shown on a computer screen, 
when TOAD AIR MARSHAL arrives with a uniform now a mixture of ivory and 
gold, with a paler skin colour and a little less weight.

KOMPLEX: Ah! Air Chief Marshal! What have you to report?

AIR MARSHAL: (Groggily) Group Captain Sludge has completed his report 
on the Rigel 5 incident. The planet is virtually impenetrable. 

KOMPLEX: And Rear-Admiral Smata?

AIR MARSHAL: Both he and Toadborg are returning now, mighty KOMPLEX.

KOMPLEX: Thank you, Air Chief Marshal. I am pleased with your progress 
since your promotion. You should be pr...

The radio crackles and MAJOR PRITCHARD comes through.

PRITCHARD: Air Chief Marshal! Air Chief Marshal! Are you there?

AIR MARSHAL: (Picking up radio) Yes, we're here. What do you want?

PRITCHARD: We've captured Vice-Chairman Hush!

KOMPLEX: (Shouts) Fools! It's Bucky O' Hare I want! 

TOAD AIR CHIEF MARSHAL cowers slightly, but then an idea pops into 
KOMPLEX.

KOMPLEX: (Calmer) Did you say Vice-Chairman Hush?

PRITCHARD: (Shivers) Y...Yes, sir. Dubbed one of the best pilots for 
the UAC. 

KOMPLEX: Excellent! We shall use Hush as bait for my trap. Major, 
here's what I want you to do. Announce that Hush will be executed along 
with the rest of the Valiant's crew, and once Bucky O' Hare arrives to 
rescue him, have your men waiting.

MAJOR PRITCHARD smiles sinisterly. 

SCENE ELEVEN
The Righteous Indignation, in orbit of Quanta.
The rusting frigate is hovering above the inhospitable planet as its 
radio beams whir and click, until JENNY observes a read-out. 

JENNY: The Valiant was here, it's photon trail ends here. 

BUCKY: But how can it just disappear?

JENNY: Hyperdrive, perhaps? 

BUCKY: I doubt it; it would've left another photon trail if it did. 

The radio crackles slightly, and a voice comes through.

CARNE: (On radio) Calling Rear-Admiral Bucky O' Hare, this is Captain 
Carne of the ST. We have the *Valiant* and its crew as our hostages. 
You are to surrender your position now or we shall kill Vice-Chairman 
Hush. 

BUCKY: How do we know that you aren't bluffing?

HUSH: (Over radio) Admiral, on no accounts can you surrender and that 
is an order!

CARNE: Those will be his last words unless you come to collect him!

The radio is severed. 

BUCKY: We'd best split into two. I'll fly the Righteous around the bow 
of the Mothership while you and Blinky form a boarding party with the 
Croaker. 

JENNY: Shouldn't we call for backup?

BUCKY: The ST Mothership's sensors may not detect any Toad Croakers, 
but if they sense any sign of a military build-up with our frigates, 
they'll just sterilise the area. Now hop to it, First Mate.

JENNY: (Worried) Yes, Admiral.

She works her way down below, where BLINKY, now leaking oil and 
slightly up-to-date, is waiting.

BLINKY: (Buzzing voice) I am hastening to obey, First Mate Jenny. 

JENNY: Prepare the Croaker, Blinky, we're going to infiltrate the ST 
Mothership.

SCENE TWELVE
A Torture Room, The ST Mothership
MAJOR PRITCHARD is conversing with the crew of the Valiant, whom are 
all strapped down to individual chairs. 

PRITCHARD: Not long now before that wretched Admiral O' Hare is history.

PSYCHE: (Irritated) Geez, is that all you Toads think about?

PRITCHARD: Excuse me?

PSYCHE: Can't you guys take a break? It's always "Kill the mammals" or 
"Slay the warmbloods". C'mon! You guys really need a hobby!

PRITCHARD: Slaying inferior warmbloods like you is my hobby.

DRAKE: And you think that killing everyone will make you a better 
person?

PRITCHARD: For the Toad Empire, I am a hero. 

KOOSH: And you think that genocide is bravery?

PRITCHARD: It is if the Aniverse is to be kept pure, and free of anyone 
who might sabotage it. 

HUSH: Like you?

PRITCHARD: What?

HUSH: (Ruder) You say you're keeping the Aniverse pure, then why are 
you blowing up everything? You're not a hero, Pritchard; you're just a 
trigger-happy lunatic who likes to play toy soldiers with real soldiers.

PRITCHARD: (Steps up to Hush) Take that back, you wretched furball!

HUSH suddenly breaks free of his bonds and punches MAJOR PRITCHARD in 
the face. The evil toad is sent flying across the room and hits a piece 
of machinery, knocking him unconscious. HUSH goes around each of the 
crew and tears the bonds free with his bare hands.

PSYCHE: All right! Way to go Hush!

The group exit the room and as they run, a section of the wall begins 
to glow hot, and the Toad Croaker, carrying JENNY and BLINKY, enters 
the Mothership. A huge vacuum envelops the area as a result, but the 
entire group are able to close the door to a corridor and are safe.

KOOSH: (To Jenny) What kept you?

JENNY: A little persuasion with the Gun Turrets outside. Where's the 
Valiant.

DRAKE: Right at the front of the ship, we'll never get there without 
being seen.

BLINKY: Humble android beg to differ. Now scanning corridor map of 
Mothership for safe passage. 

His arm extends into one machine in the wall, and he makes a trilling 
sound as he works. The trilling stops as his arm returns. 

BLINKY: We are to proceed along Corridor E-15 straight ahead, where 
security is at minimum. 

They all proceed along the corridor. 

ON THE BRIDGE...
CAPTAIN CARNE is watching several ST Double Bubbles do battle with the 
Righteous Indignation. CARNE is attempting to contact MAJOR PRITCHARD 
on the radio.

CARNE: (Tapping radio) Major? Major Pritchard? Come in, Major Pritchard.

ST TOAD #1: Sir, look!

MAJOR PRITCHARD, whom has been caught in the vacuum in the corridor, is 
floating outside and has been suffocated. CAPTAIN CARNE
Looks up.

CARNE: (Defiantly) As of now, I am taking command of this vessel, and I 
want all ST personnel to concentrate on defending the craft from that 
frigate. Open fire on all armaments!

They open fire, but luckily, they miss. 

ST TOAD #2: Several unidentified life forms in Corridor E-15, sir.

CARNE: (Startled) What? Have all personnel in Sector 9 to investigate.

ST TOAD #1: But, sir. That would leave our starboard gun turrets 
useless!

CARNE: Don't question my orders! Carry out the order!

As the order is carried out, BUCKY is heard on the radio. 

BUCKY: (On radio) This is Rear-Admiral Bucky O' Hare to Captain Carne, 
we have our masers locked onto your fuel tanks, and I suggest you 
surrender now or be destroyed.

ST TOAD #1: (To Carne) Sir?

CARNE: Quiet, Private, I am listening to O' Hare.

ST TOAD #1: But sir, there's no response from the Toads in E-15, and 
the life forms have escaped!

CARNE: (Angry) I said be quiet!

BUCKY: Carne, what is your answer?

CARNE: I say, O' Hare, that it would be better if you surrender. If you 
don't, then we shall kill the entire crew of the Valiant.

KOOSH: (On radio) You mean us?

Outside, the Valiant has now escaped with the entire crew on board. 
Also outside are JENNY and BLINKY on the Toad Croaker.

CARNE: (Whimpers) B...But how?

ST TOAD #2: Sir, there is still no contact from E-15, and the pressure 
leak in Area 19 is increasing. 

CARNE: Open fire on the starboard guns!

ST TOAD #3: We can't sir, as they have been left unguarded. 

CARNE: Send out the Double Bubbles then!

ST TOAD #2: They've all been destroyed, sir! The only one left is your 
Officers' Double Bubble!

CARNE: Then all ST personnel are to fall back to the Escape Pods!

ST TOAD #3: The Escape Pods have been ejected because of the pressure 
leak!

Fed up of the argument, the Valiant and the Righteous both open fire 
while the Croaker dodges flying pieces of shrapnel to get back to the 
Righteous Indignation. As a result of maser blasts on one side and a 
large pressure leak on the other, the combined damage causes a massive 
explosion, hurling the ST Mothership in fragments across the Aniverse. 
The Righteous and the Valiant are caught in the blast, but the ships 
soon recover. BUCKY looks at the simmering wreckage in awe, it is 
evident that nothing could've survived such an explosion.

BUCKY: (To Radio) Calling Captain Koosh! We did it, Captain! We finally 
obliterated the ST for good! 

None of them notice a Double Bubble escaping, with a dark green pattern 
with warts like a Toad Cruiser. Inside the two cockpits are CAPTAIN 
CARNE and an ST SERGEANT. The ST SERGEANT is slim and has a brown 
moustache.

SERGEANT: Where to now, sir? We can't go back to KOMPLEX like this; 
we'll be killed!

CARNE: (Calm) Don't worry, Sergeant. I've plotted our course. We'll 
rebuild the ST anew without the help of KOMPLEX. 

SERGEANT: Where are we going sir?

CARNE: To a planet in the Universe known only as Alpha Canis One. It is 
the home to a warmongering species known as the Canisians. We will 
simply work or way to the top, and conquer the Aniverse properly as 
KOMPLEX could never do!

SERGEANT: But we look nothing like Canisians, sir!

CARNE: Oh, no?

Pressing a button in the cockpit, the pair is transformed into human 
beings, still with their old features such as the moustache. 

CARNE: Onto Alpha Canis One! And if anyone asks, you are my brother!

SCENE TWELVE
The UAC HQ, Genus
CHAIRMAN GRIFF is holding a well-polished sliver sword in his hand 
while BUCKY stands in front of him. Around the room are LT. WOLF, MIMI, 
RAUL, JENNY, DEADEYE, BLINKY, KOOSH, HUSH, PSYCHE, DRAKE, LARRY CALLAN, 
HANNAH, BUTCH, AMD-4 JONATHON and BRUISER. Also present are MICHAEL 
MALLARD in the uniform of a naval officer, and LT. HORST, now in the 
uniform of a Captain. GRIFF taps BUCKY on either shoulder with the 
sword, and speaks.

GRIFF: I hereby appoint you as Admiral Bucky O' Hare.

There is unison of mixed cheers from the Council and the group. In the 
doorway, HANNAH notices someone struggling to put on a suit. Looking at 
the person, she sees ANDREW struggling to get into his Chuck Bodgers 
outfit.

HANNAH: (Softly) Andrew?

ANDREW: (Gulps) Hannah, I have to leave.

HANNAH: To Earth?

ANDREW: Yes, I'm sorry that I can't stay much longer. 

HANNAH: But you've done so much for the mammals. You helped out the 
panthers, you gave us information on that Martian, and you made us 
aware that there is always something good underneath something bad.

ANDREW: (Sighs) But Fireball XL6 is too old for huge battles like this, 
and if my planet is threatened, then I feel that I should help. 

HANNAH: But I thought you wanted to forget Chuck Bodgers.

ANDREW: I know, but there are some parts of my life that I can never 
run away from. 

There is a moment's pause, as they look each other in the eyes. 

ANDREW: I...I need the XL6. I'm sure the Valiant will do a much better 
job. 

HANNAH: Goodbye, I'll never forget you.

The pair holds hands for a moment, and with one last amount of strength 
in the two elderly astronauts, they kiss. 

SCENE THIRTEEN
Crystal's bedroom, the present day
QUEEN KATRINA is still speaking to CRYSTAL. It is almost dusk, and 
CRYSTAL is tired.

KATRINA: And Sister Hannah had affections for the hairless baboon?

CRYSTAL: It was more that he had affections for her, but was too shy to 
admit it. 

KATRINA: Is that all that happened in your dream, Crystal?

CRYSTAL: Yes, Grandma. I'm sorry, but that is all that came to my mind.

KATRINA: (Smiles) That is all right, my child. You deserve a good 
nights rest. 

CRYSTAL: (Tucking into bed) Goodnight, Grandma.

KATRINA: (Stepping out of door) Goodnight, Crystal.
