The Unsheathing of Claws

Scene 1
Royal Palace, Atlantis

KING HWANG listens to the grim news as he looks at the pilot in front 
of him.

Pilot
(looking downward)
”Then the toads moved in and their defense system didn’t work.  In a 
matter of hours, Genus was over run by the toads.  I wouldn’t have 
believed it, if I wasn’t there to see it.  Two frigates and a black 
shuttle escaped and that is all we saw.”

King Hwang
(solemnly)
”Where did they go?”

Pilot
“We followed them to Warren.  We returned after we were sure they 
entered the atmosphere.”

The King nods and slowly stands up.  He walks from the throne room and 
into a quiet reading room.

At Kinjite’s house…

The house is silent.  KINJITE slowly raises his head and peers over the 
couch, looking around carefully.  He can hear his blood thumping in his 
ears as he slowly climbs out from behind the couch.  He quietly creeps 
down the hall and stops at the corner.

Kinjite
(thinking)
<I can feel someone watching me.>

He steps out beside the stairs and looks around.  Not seeing anything, 
he steps up onto the stairs and quickly glides up them.  He rounds the 
corner and stops.  His ear twitches a little as he hears a slight 
scuffing sound from down the hall.  He turns and heads towards the 
sound.  He silently treads down the hall and stops in a small clearing.  
A pair of eyes watch him from a small hamper.

Figure
(thinking)
<Can’t find me?  Hee, hee.”

Kinjite slowly turns his back towards the hamper and starts to walk 
away.  Suddenly there is a shrill yell and the hamper flings open.  
Kinjite turns around and his daughter slams into him.  He catches her 
and they tumble to the ground, laughing and tickling each other.  AYAMI 
steps out into the hall and sees them laying on the ground.  ALLURA is 
jumping up and down on Kinjite’s stomach.

Allura
(yelling)
“I got you!  I got you this time daddy!”

Kinjite catches her and sits up, rubbing his stomach.

Ayami
(leaning against the wall)
”Took you longer this time, Lance.  I think she is getting better.”

Kinjite
(standing up)
”Yeah she is.”
(adjust Allura in his arms and kisses her forehead)
“Next time, I’ll find you.”

Allura hugs him tightly and they walk down the hall with Ayami.  They 
walk down the stairs and into the kitchen.  Kinjite walks over and 
pulls out a couple of bottles of juice.  He sits down and places Allura 
on his lap.  She grabs one of the bottles and tries to twist the top 
open.  Kinjite pops his open and watches her try.  She finally gives up 
and looks a him.  He pops the top open and she grabs the bottle.  Ayami 
watches and shakes her head.

Ayami
“So much like you.  Determined to try and do things herself.”

Ayami walks over and sits across from them.

Kinjite
(nodding)
”Yeah, I remember my stubbornness very well.”
(Looks at Allura as she takes a drink)
”I still can’t believe how fast Atlanteans grow.”

Ayami
“Don’t forget, we have a shorter cycle than the other planets and the 
winter seasons are harsh.  Our young grow quickly to make sure they 
survive their first winter.”

Allura sets her bottle down and looks at her two parents.  Kinjite runs 
his fingers through her full hair and brushes it from her face.

Allura
“Mommy, when is Aunt Jenny and Uncle Bucky going to come around again?  
I miss them.”

Ayami
(smiling)
”I’m not sure, honey.  They have a hard job and I don’t know when they 
get time off.  I’m sure they‘ll come around and see you again.”

There is a knock from the front door and Kinjite looks up.  Ayami 
smiles and stands up.  She walks into the living room.  Kinjite takes a 
drink from his bottle and sets it down.

Kinjite
(looking at Allura)
”Maybe I can take you to see Aunt Iris on Warren.  Some times Bucky is 
able to go there on duty to visit.”

Allura
(excited)
”Yeah!  Aunt Iris!  I want to see her too!”

Kinjite looks up as Ayami walks in and sees the look on her face.

Kinjite
“What is it?”

Ayami
(quietly)
”There is someone in the living room to speak with you, Lance.”

She gently picks up Allura.  Kinjite slowly stands up and looks at her.  
Ayami gently hugs him and steps back.

Allura
“What’s wrong mommy?”

Kinjite walks into the living room and sees a Royal Guard standing 
there.

Kinjite
(concerned)
”What is it?”

Guard
(gravely)
”Master Oni Lance, I have been ordered to inform you of some bad news.”
(takes a breath and looks into Kinjite’s eye)
”The toads have managed to take Genus and have captured the entire 
council as far as we know.  King Hwang and Queen Mei Lin wish to speak 
with you immediately to discuss battle plans.”

Kinjite looks over his shoulder at his wife and daughter in the doorway 
of the kitchen.  He swallows gently as he looks at his daughter, who 
just looks back at him with wide confused eyes.  He turns back to the 
guard.

Kinjite
(quietly)
”Only if my family is allowed as well.”

The Guard nods and motions to the door.

Allura
(looking at her mom)
”Mommy, what’s going on?”

Scene 2
Royal Palace, Atlantis

Kinjite walks through the throne room doors, followed by Ayami and 
Allura.  King Hwang and Queen Mei Lin look up as he enters.  He walks 
up and bows to them.

King Hwang
(watching him)
”The guard told \you?”

Kinjite nods and remains silent.  A few seconds pass by and a couple 
guards shift nervously.

Kinjite
(finally)
”What are we going to do?  We were accepted by the council, but were 
not allowed a representative yet.”

Queen Mei Lin
(quietly)
“There is more than Genus falling.  Approximately about the same time, 
we lost contact with Aldebaran as well.”

Ayami
(stepping forward)
”Do  you think the toads took Aldebaran as well?”

King Hwang
(shaking his head)
”No, we would have detected their attack force.  We don’t know what 
happened to them.  Right know we need to be concerned with Genus.  That 
planet was the last major standing point against the toads.  Now that 
it has fallen, we fear that the toads will run rampant.  We have 
summoned the leaders of all fighting forces on our planet to discuss 
this.”
(looks at Kinjite)
”And we need your opinion, having worked on Genus, Master Oni Lance.”

Kinjite
(quietly)
”I can already tell you what we need to do.  We need to take Genus back 
and reestablish the UAC as quick as possible.”

The King nods and looks up as others walk in.  Some wearing armor and 
others wearing forest colored garments.  They bow to Kinjite and then 
to the King and Queen.  Kinjite gently takes Ayami’s free hand.

Kinjite
(in her ear)
”Why don’t you take Allura to the Temple and talk with Selena.  I will 
send for you when we are done.”

Ayami nods and gently kisses him.  She walks out of the throne room, 
carrying Allura, who waves bye to her dad as they leave.  Kinjite 
watches them until the door shuts behind them.  He takes a deep breath 
and turns to the waiting groups, with a dead serious look on his face.

Kinjite
(firmly)
”We have battle plans to make and defenses to prepare for.”

King Hwang nods and looks at his wife.  She nods and stands up.  She 
walks towards the doors as well.

Queen Mei Lin
“I’ll go with Tenchi Ayami and her daughter for now.”

The groups bow to her as she leaves.  They remain silent until she is 
out the door as well.  A small crystal rises out of the ground and 
projects a holographic image of Genus, Atlantis and their moons.

King Hwang
“Let’s get started”

The groups circle around the hologram.

Scene 3
Royal Temple, Atlantis

Ayami walks in and sets Allura on the ground.  High Priestess Selena 
walks up and bows to her.

Selena
(calmly)
”It is a pleasure to see you again, Tenchi Ayami.  How is parenthood as 
of  late?”

Ayami
(smiling)
”A handful at times.”

Allura looks up and smiles at Selena.  She walks over and sits on one 
of the cushions.  Selena watches her and smiles.

Selena
“And where is her father?”

Ayami
(quietly)
”Making battle plans I am afraid.”

Selena lowers her head and shakes it.

Selena
(quietly)
”I have heard the rumors.  So they are true then.”

Ayami nods and the two females turn as the Queen walks in.  They bow to 
her as she approaches them.  Selena motions for an acolyte to come over.

Selena
(when the acolyte gets there)
”Bring some tea for us to drink.”

The acolyte nods and walks off.  The three females sit on cushions by 
Allura.

Queen Mei Lin
(sadly)
”This is a sad day for our planet and others.”

Ayami
(nodding)
”It is, but I know Master Oni Lance won’t let it go unpunished.”

In the throne room…

Forest Garbed Cat #1
(firmly)
”We need to strengthen our borders and sit this out!  If we get 
involved, the toads will mark our world as their next target!”

Armored Cat #1
(snapping back)
”We are Atlanteans!  We don’t cower and tuck our tails between our legs 
like whipped kittens!  We need to attack the toads and push this war 
back to their planet!”

The groups keep yelling back and forth on battle plans.  King Hwang 
looks up and sees Kinjite leaning against a window frame, looking out 
it.

King Hwang
“Master Oni Lance, you have been silent through this.  Do you have 
anything to say or add?”

Everyone turns as Kinjite turns to face the group.

Kinjite
(quietly)
”I have been listening to all arguments here.  They are all legit.  We 
need to worry about the defense our world, but we also need to do 
something to aid in the war.”
(he walks over and stands beside the king)
”Part of being in the UAC is being willing to help fight for the UAC.”

He falls silent and looks around the room at all the cats.  An armored 
one steps up and clears his throat.

Armored Cat #2
“What do you suggest, Master Oni Lance?  We know little of the other 
races or of this Genus.”

Kinjite
(looking at the Forest garbed cats)
”How strong is the Planetary Defense Force?”

Forest Garbed Cat #1
(after thinking a moment)
”We stand at fifteen thousand strong.  In a pinch we can muster up to a 
total of twenty.”

Kinjite
(nodding)
”In a pinch, how long can the auto defenses work unmanned?”

Forest Garbed Cat #2
“Approximately forty-eight hours, sir.”

King Hwang
(looking at Kinjite)
”Are you saying we hunker down and sit this out in the shelter 
tunnels?”

Kinjite
(shaking his head)
”Not at all, your highness.  I say we rally the entire Atlantean war 
fleet and we take Genus by force or at least hit the toads as hard as 
hell.”

The room goes silent and everyone looks at Kinjite, as he walks over to 
the window again.  He turns and looks at the groups.

Kinjite
“When was the last time Atlantis made its presence known?”

Armored Cat #1
(after thinking a moment)
”Except the fight here and on Aldebaran, we have kept to ourselves.  
Very few races out there know of us.  That is why we are mistaken for 
Aldebarans so often.”

Kinjite
(nodding)
”And when was the last time the Atlanteans have used their entire fleet 
in battle?”

King Hwang
“We never have.  There has been no reason to.”

Kinjite
”Are the troops up to par then?”

Armored Cat #2
(proudly)
”Of course we are!  We are drilled and trained every day!”

Kinjite
(nodding)
”Then I say it is time that Atlantis makes itself  known.”

He looks at the King and waits for his opinion.  The King looks around 
and smiles.  He looks right at Kinjite.

King Hwang
(smiling)
”Then our fleet will be lead by the strongest of the Chosen.  The fleet 
is yours, Master Oni Lance.”
(looks at the armored cats)
”Sound the call and rally up the *entire* fleet!  That means all ships, 
fighters, battle cruisers, and power suits are to be activated!  We 
will tear them apart!”
(looks at the Forest Garbed Cats)
“I want the asteroid belts around our world filled with mines and I 
want the hunter mines orbiting our planet in less than two hours!”

Everyone quickly bows and runs out the door.  Kinjite steps up and bows 
to the King.

King Hwang
(patting Kinjite on the shoulder)
”Lets hope that the toads fall under this attack.”

Kinjite
(nodding)
”For our planet’s sake and the sake of our loved ones, so do I.”

King Hwang
(quietly)
“Go see your wife and daughter.  We will address the fleet in two 
hours.”

Kinjite nods and heads for the door.

In the Temple…

All the females look up as a siren starts.  Allura grabs her mom’s arm 
tightly.

Allura
(scared)
”What’s that?”

Queen Mei Lin
(shocked)
”It is the call to arms!  Either we are being invaded or…”

She stops and looks at Ayami, worried.  Ayami nods and quickly stands 
up.  She picks up her daughter and runs to the door.  She runs down the 
hall and sees Kinjite walking down the hall towards her.  She stops and 
he walks up to her.

Ayami
(worried)
”What’s going on?”

Kinjite
(quietly)
”I have been giving the task of taking Genus back from the toads.  The 
fleet is being rallied as we speak.”

Ayami just stands there stunned.  Kinjite gently takes Allura from 
Ayami’s arms and smiles at her.

Allura
“What’s going on Daddy?”

Kinjite
(kindly)
”I have a little job for you.  Can you do me a favor?”
(Allura nods)
”I have to go away and take care of a problem.  I am going to be gone 
for awhile.  Can you take care of Mommy while I am gone?”

Allura
(worried)
”Will you come back?”

Kinjite
(smiling)
”Of course I will!  You keep practicing on hiding while I am gone 
though.”

Allura nods and Kinjite sets her on the ground.  He turns to Ayami and 
sees her eyes growing moist.  He gently hugs her and holds her.

Ayami
(whispering in his ear)
”Is it that bad?”

Kinjite
(whispering)
”It is.  Genus needs to be reclaimed or at least the Council retrieved.  
King Hwang has ordered the entire fleet to go and has also ordered that 
the defenses be increased around our planet as well.”

Ayami
“How long until you leave?”

Kinjite
“Two hours.  Let’s get you two home.”

He gently takes Allura’s little paw in his paw.  They walk down the 
hall quietly.

Scene 4
Royal Palace, Atlantis  two hours later

The entire fleet is rallied.  The sky is filled with heavy battle 
cruisers and light battle cruisers.  There are fighters all around and 
several suits of armor are being loaded into the cruisers.  When the 
cruisers are fully loaded, the troops start falling into ranks before 
the palace.  Kinjite is watching the entire process from a platform.  
Beside him is the King and Queen, as well as Ayami and Allura.  He 
watches as the troops form ranks and standing perfectly still.  The 
grounds quickly become a sea of multiple colored hair as far as the eye 
can see.  Kinjite looks at the King and nods.  The king steps forward.

King Hwang
(addressing the troops)
”As of about half a day ago, the toads have taken Genus by force!  As 
of two hours ago, the choice was made to retaliate and take Genus back!  
I am herby placing the entire fleet at Master Oni Lance’s command.”

He steps aside and Kinjite steps up.  The air grows still and the 
silence deepens even more.  Kinjite looks around the first few rows of 
troops and sees a couple he has come to know.  He sighs and takes a 
deep breath.

Kinjite
“My plans are simple.  To start I want to head to Warren and find out 
who was able to escape.  Then we move onto Genus  We are going to 
either liberate Genus or retrieve the Council at least.”

He stops and looks at the troops again.  He turns and looks at his wife 
and daughter.  He then looks at the King and Queen and turns back to 
the troops.

Kinjite
(firmly)
“Since the Goddesses have created this world and our race, we have been 
silent.  This race has sat here and built up their military power in 
silence, as the other races started to interact and skirmishes formed 
out there.  The toads came here once, in hopes of an easy victory, but 
were driven away!  We showed a small piece of this planet’s military 
power, during our aiding of Aldebaran!  But we never showed what our 
spirits were like!  To the other planets we are just another feline 
race, but we are a hell of a lot more than that!  We are Atlanteans and 
it is time we show what an Atlantean really is!  The Flames of War and 
the Blood of the Innocent is showing!  It is our turn to rise up, bare 
our teeth and claws, and show the toads and everyone else, what the 
Flames of ware really look like and who is to really fan them!  
Atlantis will not remain silent anymore!  We will make ourselves known!  
We will make our presence felt, whether they want to feel it or not!  
It is our turn, our time, and we will take our place in this war on the 
front lines!  We are Atlanteana and Atlantis will remain silent no 
more!”

As Kinjite’s last words echo out,  a large roar of cheers from the 
troops flood the platform and show their agreement with him.

Kinjiet
(yelling)
”Then get in the cruisers and let’s do this like it is suppose to be 
done!”

The troops break ranks and charge towards the cruisers.  Kinjite turns 
to the King and Queen and bows.  They both nod and step off the 
platform, heading towards the palace.  Ayami steps up before him and 
hugs him around the neck.

Ayami
(holding back emotions)
”Please be careful, Lance.”

Kinjite
(hugging her tighter)
”I will.”
(lets go of Ayami and picks up Allura)
”Keep your word now and watch over your mom.”

He hugs Allura, as she wraps her little arms around his neck and hugs 
him back.

Allura
“Go beat up a toad for me too, daddy.”

Kinjite smiles and passes her off to her mom.  A pilot walks up to them.

Pilot
“Pardon me, Master Oni Lance, but it is time to go.”

Kinjite nods and looks at his family again.  He smiles and waves one 
more time and follows the Pilot to the lead battle cruiser.  Ayami and 
Allura watches as he walks away.  A little ways away, a shadowy figure 
watches from behind a small group of trees and shakes its head.  It 
steps out of the shadows and reveals itself to be the Older Allura.

Older Allura
(thinking)
<I remember this war from my histories.  If this universe is going to 
follow the same path, it will happen soon.  Then he will begin his 
change as well."

She sighs and slips back into the shadows, before Ayami and her 
daughter can see her.

Scene 5
Orbital monitoring station, Warren

A young hare is sitting at the desk, watching the monitor. He looks 
over as he hears a door open and CAPTAIN BUCKY O”HARE walks in.

Bbuky
(solemnly)
”Anything?”

Hare
“No sir. The screen is still empty.”

The hare turns back to the monitor and gasps at what he sees. The 
entire screen is full of signals of incoming ships.

Bucky
(stunned)
”That has to be the entire toad armada!”

Voice
(over radio)
”This is the battle cruiser Nebula. I am trying to get in contact with 
a member of the UACSC fleet that escaped Genus. Over.”

Bucky
(into com)
”This is Captain Bucky O’hare. Who is this?”

Voice
“Well, glad to see that you got away, Bucky. It’s Kinjite and I felt 
like bringing a few friends to meet the toads.”

Bucky
“Kinjite? What armada is that?”

Kinjite
(over radio)
”Allow me to introduce you to the Atlantean Fleet. Care to come up or 
should I come down?”

Bucky
“Why don’t you come down?”

An hour later…

A small fighter streaks out of the sky and lands on a pad in front of 
Bucky, Dogstar, and Mimi. The canopy slides back and two armored 
figures climb out. They approach and remove their helmets. One of them 
is revealed to be Kinjite. Bucky steps up and quickly embraces Kinjite. 
Kinjite just stands there for a second stunned by this welcome.

Kinjite
(stunned)
”Uh, hi I guess.”

Bucky
(stepping back)
”Sorry, I am just glad to see another face I know.”

Kinjite
(nodding)
”Alright, so what the hell happened?”

Bucky
(shoulders drooping)
”I’m not sure. All of a sudden the toads were through the shield and 
attacking everything in sight. Jenny disappeared during this as did my 
frigate. The rest of the crew got away with Dogstar. Most of Mimi’s 
crew was able to get away as well. Almost all of Dogstar’s crew is 
missing though.”

Kinjite looked at the small group as Bucky explained what happened. His 
eye narrowed as he saw Mimi flinch a little bit at the mention of the 
toads getting through the shield. He looked at Bucky and nodded. 

Kinjite
“What about the Council?”

Bucky
”Captured I’m afraid.”

Kinjite
“What are your plans?”

Dogstar
(solemnly)
”We really don’t have much plans. We are presently waiting for the 
other planets to regroup and we are unsure of how long that could take. 
What are the Atlanteans doing?”

Kinjite
(firmly)
”We are going to take this fight back to the toads. Care to join?”

Dogstar
(shaking his head)
”As much as we would enjoy it, we should wait. Just in case your 
attempt fails. Maybe we can rally up enough forces and prepare for a 
second attempt.”

Kinjite
(nodding)
”Sounds like a good plan. You guys have waged your war. Let us take the 
mantle and run with it for now.”
(turns to Mimi)
”Captain Lafluer, may I speak with you in private?”

He turns and starts walking away. Mimi sighs and walks after him. She 
soon catches up with him.

Mimi
“What do you want?”

Kinjite
(calmly)
”I believe you know more than Bucky does. I would appreciate it if you 
would share with me.”

Mimi bites her lower lip and looks down. Kinjite watches her and can 
sense the turmoil of emotions in her. He gently puts a paw on her 
shoulder and she looks up, with tears in her eyes.

Kinjite
(kindly)
”What happened?”

Mimi
(holding back tears and anger)
”I’m the cause of the defense shield not working!”

Kinjite
(calmly)
”How is that?”

Mimi
(struggling)
”I don’t know. I remember hearing a loud high pitched whine and then 
everything was like a terrible nightmare. I shot my engineer and took 
his access card. Then Harry and I made our way down to the control room 
and blew it up. Then I lost Harry trying to get to the surface as toads 
were swarming everywhere.”

She clenches her fist as tears are streaming down her cheeks. Kinjite 
gently takes her in his arms and holds her for a second.

Kinjite
(quietly)
”you say there was a high pitched whine?”
(Mimi nods into his shoulder)
”I think I know what happened.”

Mimi looks up at him, hopefully.

Kinjite
(smiling)
”Though your body did destroy the control room, you didn’t do it. Our 
scientist have been trying to develop a way to send transmissions with 
out the use of com links. I believe it could be used to manipulate a 
mammal. I will look into it for you and if I am right, I will stand by 
you as you explain what happened to everyone else.”

Mimi
(softly)
”Thanks Kinjite. I owe you one for this.”

She hugs him gently and takes a step back.

Mimi
(quietly)
”I have a favor to ask of you.”

Kinjite
(pulling on his helmet)
”I’ll look for Harry for you while I’m there.”

Mimi just stands there as Kinjite turns and starts walking back to the 
ship. The Pilot nods and pulls on his helmet. They climb into the ship 
and it quickly takes off.

Scene 6
Kinjite’s home, Atlantis

Ayami is sitting on the couch, with her feet pulled up under her. Her 
daughter Allura is lying on the couch, with her head on Ayami’s leg. 
There is a gentle knock on the door and Ayami sighs. She gently slides 
a pillow under Allura’s head and gets up. She walks over and the door 
slides open There is a hooded figure standing there.

Figure
(quietly)
”Is she asleep?”

Ayami
(nodding)
”Yes, come on and follow me.”

They walk through the house and into the kitchen. The Figure pulls back 
its hood and reveals Older Allura. They sit at the table and look at 
each other for a second.

Ayami
(quietly)
”I’m guessing you heard about what is going on and that is why you are 
here?”

Older Allura
(nodding)
”Kind of.”
(quickly removes the cloak all the way and reveals she is wearing armor)
”it happened in my dimension as well, but that is not why I am here, 
mom.”

Ayami
“I will never get use to you calling me that. Anyways, why are you 
here?”

Older Allura
(quietly)
”I bring a warning about Dad. In my dimension, this war happened and it 
was bloody. We won, but something happened to Dad during the war and he 
started changing. He started becoming more aggressive and savage. I 
don’t know what happened, but it started during this war!”

They both look at the door, holding their breaths. After a few seconds, 
they sighed with relief and looked back at each other.

Older Allura
(quietly)
”Sorry.”

Ayami
(smiling)
”Don’t worry about it. I know this is hitting home to you. I’m glad you 
came and told me.”

Voice
(sleepily)
”Mommy, who’s she?”

Both females quickly turn their head and see the younger Allura 
standing in the doorway, rubbing her eyes.

Ayami
(thinking quickly)
”This is an old friend of mine. Her name is Allura as well. We named 
you after her. I thought you were asleep.”

Allura walks over and Ayami picks her up and sets her on her lap. Older 
Allura watches this and smiles.

Older Allura
(thinking)
<Makes me wish I was small enough to do that.>

Younger Allura
(looking at Older Allura)
”Why hasn’t she been around?”

Older Allura
(kindly)
”I use to come around when you were a little kitten, dear.  I’ve been 
busy traveling with a friend named Dallion.  I finally had a few 
minutes to visit your mommy.”

Younger Allura nods and yawns a little bit.

Ayami
“Why don’t you go lay down and get a little bit more sleep.  If you 
want, go lay on my bed and I will be in shortly.”

Younger Allura nods and climbs down.  She waves to Older Allura and 
walks out the door.  After a few minutes, Allura turns to Ayami.

Older Allura
(sighing)
”That was close.”

Ayami nods and studies the alternate version of her daughter.

Ayami
“Why don’t you want her to know who you are?”

Older Allura
(quietly)
”I don’t want her future to be influenced by me.  If she finds out that 
I am a version of her from the future and she thinks it is neat, she 
might try to make herself become like me.”

Ayami nods and stands up.  Allura stands up as well and pulls on her 
cloak.

Older Allura
“I should go.  It is to risky that she might find out.”
(She walks over and hugs Ayami.)
“It is nice to see you mom.”

Ayami
“Stay in touch.  Even with you hiding it, you are still my daughter.”

Allura nods and quietly walks out the kitchen.  She walks out the door 
and it shuts behind her.  Younger Allura steps out from behind the 
stairs, with wide eyes.  She quickly and quietly runs up the stairs and 
into the master bedroom.  She climbs up on the bed and lays down.

Allura
(thinking)
<She called my mom her mom.  She told mom that she was me.  How?>

A few minutes later, Ayami walks through the door and over to the bed.  
She lays by Allura and gently puts an arm over her daughter.

Scene 7
Genus

A toad is sitting in front of a radar.  He looks up as AIR MARSHAL 
walks over to him.

Air Marshall
“Well?”

Toad
“Nothing on radar, sir.  Maybe the mammals realized that they can’t 
take this planet back.”

Air Marshall
“Perhaps, but keep an eye on that screen.”

He turns to walk away, when the radar beeps.  The toad and Air Marshall 
both look at it.  There is one signal on it.

Above the planet…

A single battle cruiser approaches the planet.  On the bridge, Kinjite 
is watching the monitors.  He sees several signals from double bubbles 
around and on the planet.

Kinjite
(quietly)
“There are so many of them!  No wonder they took Genus!”

Suddenly, Air Marshal’s face appears on the screen.

Air Marshal
(in a commanding tone)
”Who are you and why are you entering toad space?”

Kinjite
(firmly)
”I am Master Oni Lance of Atlantis!  I am here to give you one chance 
to pull out of Genus and withdraw back to your planet, or we will 
destroy every one of your fighters and mother ships we can find!  You 
have five seconds to make your choice!”

Air Marshal
(laughing)
”You?  One ship?  Ha!  You mammals are stupider than I thought!  We 
will destroy your ship!”

Kinjite looks at the screen and sees several signals approaching his 
battle cruiser.

Kinjite
(raising a hand)
”You had your chance toad!”
(drops his paw)
”FIRE!”

Suddenly, the area is filled with maser cannon fire that is coming out 
of nowhere.  Several double bubbles explode.  There is a shimmering 
effect and several spots of light appear and several fighters swarm out 
of them.  The shimmering effect continues and battle cruisers start 
appearing out of thin air!.

On Genus…

Air Marshal just stands there, shocked as the screen is quickly filled 
with enemy signals.

Air Marshal
(yelling)
“Cloaking?  They have cloaking?  Those filthy mammals!  I want all 
double bubbles in the sky now.  Deploy the mother ships and call for 
back up!  And prepare the storm toads for the ground forces!”

The toad quickly puts the orders through as the Air Marshal storms out.

Outside…

Several mammals look up from their electrical prisons.  The skies 
quickly fill with explosions, fighters, and maser fire.  The battle 
continues to intensify and soon surpasses the intensity of when the 
toads attacked Genus.

In The Battle Cruiser…

Kinjite runs down the hall, latching a helmet in place as he goes.  He 
enters a room, where drop ships are being filled with troops and power 
armors.  A nearby soldier looks up.

Soldier
(stunned)
”Sir!  You’re going down as well?”

Kinjite
(picking up a maser rifle)
”Damn right I am!  I have two friends who were on that planet and I am 
planning on finding out what happened to them!”

Soldier
“But if your wife finds out, she’ll kill you.”

Kinjite
(nodding)
”Yeah, she probably will, but I will deal with that battle with a 
different method.  Let’s go!”

He jumps into the transport, followed by more troops.

Scene 8
On the Grounds of Genus

The drop ships come streaking down and across the ruins of the city.  
The doors snap open and armored troops leap out and roll across the 
ground.  They roll to their feet, firing as they come up. The storm 
toads quickly engage them and a bloody fire fight erupts among the 
ruins.  One transport flies along and its troops, including Kinjite, 
dive out.  They land in a garbage heap and roll across it.  Kinjite 
rolls across and comes to a stop.  He looks up and finds himself 
looking into the dead face of Brahma, with a maser hole in his forehead 
and chest.  Kinjite just sits there shocked.  A soldier runs up and 
helps him up.  The Soldier looks down and sees the dead mammal.

Soldier
(quietly)
”Did you know him?”

Kinjite
(anger building)
”He was a close friend of mine and my boss!”

He looks around and sees several other bodies.  The anger builds up at 
the sight of each dead body.  His eye falls on a familiar hand.

Kinjite
(whispering)
”No, not her too!”

He runs over and quickly unburies Alissa’s dead body.  There are 
multiple sword cuts across her body and across her throat.  Kinjite 
whirls around and glares around.

Kinjite
(ordering)
”I want every damn toad with a frelling sword killed or brought before 
me!  Move!”

The soldiers nod and scatter in groups.  They run down the heap and 
toads start to open fire on them.  The masers scorch the garbage and 
trails of smoke start  appearing.  The Atlantean troops start firing 
back and soon push their way off the garbage heap.

An hour later…

The Fire fight is still intense and the body count on both sides in 
increasing.  Kinjite looks up from his trench and sees an Atlantean 
fighter explode.  He quickly scans the surrounding area and sees dead 
toads and Atlantean soldiers, as well as destroyed robots and power 
armors.  There is a thick smoke all over the ruined city and 
surrounding area.  He turns as he hears a scream and sees a soldier’s 
head fly from his shoulders as a sword slashes through his neck.  The 
toad smiles as he stands over the fallen body.  The toad turns to 
Kinjite and smiles again.

Toad
(holding up his sword)
”You must be Kinjite.  That panther bitch called for you as I killed 
her.”

Kinjite slowly stands and approaches the toad, as maser fire flies 
around him.  The Toad takes a stance as Kinjite approaches.

Kinjite
(evilly)
”Tell me your name, toad.  That way I know who I am going to kill!”

Toad
(coldly)
”The name is Creelevard.  Remember it on your trip to hell!”

The two lunge at each other as maser fire continues to shoot around 
them.

Scene 9
Space above Atlantis

A mine floats by an asteroid, orbiting the planet.  It has a small 
flashing green light.  Suddenly the light turns red and the mine jerks 
to the left.  It suddenly zips out from behind the asteroid and slams 
into the side of a toad double bubble.  The fighter explodes as the 
mine detonates.

At the Palace…

Alarms suddenly start sounding and several cats look up in shock and 
fear.  In the throne room, King Hwang and Queen Mei Lin look up shocked.  
A guard runs in and slides to a stop before them.

Guard
(quickly)
”The Toads!  Their attacking Atlantis!”

King Hwang
(standing)
”Sound the sirens and open the tunnels!”

The Guard nods and runs off.  King Hwang looks his wife and sighs.  She 
nods and they both run down the hall.

At Kinjite’s house…

Ayami sits up as the sirens start.  Allura sits up and rubs her eyes.

Allura
(yawning)
”What’s going on?”

Ayami looks out the window and sees other Atlantean cats heading 
towards the Shelter tunnels.  She scoops up Allura and runs out the 
door as well.

At the Tunnels…

High Priestess Selena looks up as she hears footsteps.  Ayami 
approaches her, still carrying a scared Allura.  Selena bows and smiles.

Selena
“I am glad to see you made it.”

Ayami
(worried)
”What’s going on?”

Selena
(quietly)
”The toads have attacked again.”

Voice
(firmly)
”It is as I said, it will be a bloody war.”

Selena and Ayami turns and sees the  Older Allura approaching them.  
She smiles to the Younger Allura, in Ayami’s arms.

Allura
(quietly)
”How long did it last for your dimension?”

Older Allura
(shrugging her shoulders)
”I’m not sure on the dates.  I should take post with the other guards 
and prepare for the ground troops.”

Selena
(confused)
”You think they will get past the hunter mines and auto defenses?”

Older Allura
(walking towards the entrance)
”Look what happened to Genus.”

They watch her as she walks away.

Younger Allura
(squirming)
”Mom can you please put me down?”

Ayami gently puts her daughter on the ground.  She turns to Selena and 
starts talking.  Neither of them see Allura sneaking away and running 
towards the entrance.

At the Entrance…

Older Allura takes a seat and waits patiently as guards move around her.

Voice
(timidly)
”Can I talk to you, Allura?”

Older Allura turns and sees Younger Allura standing there.  She nods 
and pats the rock beside her.

Older Allura
(smiling)
”Sure kitten.  What’s on your mind?”

Younger Allura climbs up on the rock beside her and sits down.  She 
looks around and then up at the Older Allura’s face.

Younger Allura
(cautiously)
”Who are you really?”

Older Allura quickly takes a deep breath and quickly composes herself.

Older Allura
(nervously)
”Your mom already told you.”

Younger Allura
(nodding)
”Yes, but I heard you call her mom as well and say that you were me.”

Older Allura’s eyes widen and her jaw drops open.  She stares at the 
young Atlantean in horror.

Older Allura
(shocked)
‘Where did you hear that?!”

Younger Allura shrinks away, afraid she made the Older Allura mad.

Younger Allura
(timidly)
”You said it at my home.  When you were talking to mom in the kitchen.”

Older Allura droops her head and sighs.

Older Allura
(quietly)
“You weren’t suppose to hear that.”

Younger Allura
(suddenly curious)
“Why?”

In the Tunnels…

Ayami looks up as Older Allura and Younger Allura walk up to her.  She 
notices that they are holding paws as they walk.  She looks up and sees 
the look on Older Allura’s face.

Ayami
(worried)
”What’s wrong?”

Older Allura
(quietly)
”Mom, we have a problem.”

Ayami’s eyes widen at the word mom and looks at Younger Allura in fear.

Scene 10
Upper Atmosphere, Genus

A battle cruiser is mowing through the toad forces.  On the Bridge, a 
male Atlantean named SHAR is monitoring the battle.  He is grey furred 
and has lavender hair.

Shar
“What is the status of the ground troops?”

Female #1
“The ground troops have met heavy resistance and there have been severe 
casualties, Sir.”

Shar nods and looks at another female.

Shar
“And the fighters?”

Female #2
“Severe casualties as well.  It would appear that the toads are wanting 
to keep this planet quite badly, sir.”

Shar nods and walks over to a post were he can see the battle around 
the cruiser.  His armor clanking as he walks.  He leans on the rail and 
drums with his right arm, which makes clanking sounds, since his right 
arm is metallic.  His left eye rotates and widens, with a whirring 
sound, allowing him to see the ground war better.  Female #1  leans 
over to Female #2.

Female #1
(whispering)
“Is he really *the* Shar?  The one who lost his arm in the battle that 
Master Oni Lance appeared in?”

Female #2
(whispering back)
”Yeah, he’s the one who led the charge after Master Oni Lance landed.  
I heard he was so messed up, that they had to replace several parts of 
his body.  Then that cybernetic wolf showed up and the scientist were 
able to make some improvements.”

Female #1
(whispering)
”Wasn’t he supposedly going to wed Ayami, before she went to Master Oni 
Lance?”

Shar
(from his post)
”Yes and I believe we should keep our minds on the battle, ladies.”

Both Females quickly look up shocked and return to their work.  Shar 
sighs as he watches a fighter explode.

Shar
(thinking)
<I can't dwell on the past.  It will interfere with the battle of the 
present.  Ayami made her choice and I told her I would support her 
choice, but it never stopped my feelings for her?>

His thoughts are interrupted as a transmission comes through.

Voice
(over radio)
”Attention Atlantean fleet!  This is Atlantis!  The toads have attacked 
and have broken through our defenses!  They are on the planet!  Repeat, 
they are on the Planet!  Everyone is in shelter tunnels and home guards 
is engaging as we speak!  We need the fleet!  Repeat….”

The signal suddenly dies and the room goes silent.  Shar turns and 
takes a deep breath.

Shar
(ordering)
”Sound the retreat and have the drop ships retrieve the troops!”

Female #1  quickly sends the signal.  Female #2 looks up at Shar.

Female #2
“But Master Oni Lance said that we wouldn’t leave without the Council 
at least, Sir.”

Shar looks at her and his eye spins and refocuses on her.

Shar 
“And no one expected a large enough force to get through our defenses 
either!”
(turns and starts walking towards the door)
”Send down extra drop ships!  I want all of the troops off that planet 
in record time!”

He runs out the door and down the tunnel to the launch bay.

On Genus…

Kinjite and Creelevard are locked in a dance of destruction.  Both of 
Kinjite’s arms wrapped in flames and Creelevard is whipping his sword 
around.  Kinjite is using his arms to block the sword and each time 
they clash, there is a shower of sparks.  They continue to exchange 
blow after blow.  Sometimes they can’t completely block an attack and 
some of it gets through.  Kinjite has several small cuts all over his 
body and Creelevard has some burn marks and claw marks.  They bounce 
back and lunge at each other again, colliding in mid air and exchanging 
blows, before landing on the ground in a heap again.  As hard as 
Kinjite tries, he just can’t seem to gain the upper hand and the same 
is with Creelevard.  Suddenly there is a beep in Kinjite’s communicator.

Voice
“Attention all Atlantean forces!    This is a command from the throne 
to retreat!  Retreat immediately!’

Kinjite
(growling)
”Like hell I will!”

He lunges at Creelevard again.

At EVAC point…

Shar watches as several soldiers climb aboard the drop ships.  The 
heavy maser cannons are laying down a heavy field of  fire, that is 
keeping toads at bay.  Shar sees the numbers start to thin as most are 
loaded.

Shar
(to himself)
”Where the hell is he?!”

A soldier runs up and quickly salutes.

Soldeir
(quickly)
”All soldiers are loaded that are still alive, sir!”

Shar
(yelling over the noise)
”What of Master Oni Lance!?”

Soldier
(ducking under a maser blast)
”His signal is still active, but he hasn’t left the area he is in!  
Some of the soldiers say he is fighting against a toad!”

Shar curses loudly and ducks under a maser blast.

Shar
(to the soldier)
”Get on board!  Tell them to head to the cruisers!  I’ll get Master Oni 
Lance!”
(touches his ear)
“Flaming Panther, this is Shar!  I need a lift to retrieve Master Oni 
Lance!”

Female Voice
(in his ear)
”I hear you, Shar!   The handle is ready and I’m on my way!”

Shar looks up and sees the quickly approaching fighter.  He starts 
running and leaps up.  His right hand wraps around a metal rod under 
the bottom of the fighter, with a clang, and he is jerked along with 
the fighter. The fighter dodges and weaves through maser fire as they 
streak through the air.  Shar’s eye focuses on a fight ahead of him.  
There is a clicking sound and his wrist starts to extend and he begins 
lowering.

Shar
(touching his ear)
”No fancy flying, dear.  I am lowering for pick up!  Maintain speed!”

Female Voice
(in his ear)
”Affirmative!”

On the Ground…

Creelevard looks up and sees the rapidly approaching fighter, with 
something hanging below it.  Kinjite notices and lunges in for a strike.  
Creelevard falls back, avoiding the strike and lashes out with his 
sword and foot.  The sword bites deep into Kinjite’s arm and the foot 
smashes into his stomach, launching him upward.  Kinjite flips over and 
readies to strike.  Suddenly an arm wraps around him and he is yanked 
away from the fight, at a gut wrenching speed.  He spins his head 
around to look and sees Shar hanging there.

Shar
(yelling over the wind)
”We need to go!  The planet is under siege!  Ayami needs your help!”

Kinjite nods and glares at the rapidly disappearing toad.

Kinjite
(thinking)
<I will kill you, Creelevard!>

The Fighter whips around and streaks back to a heavy battle cruiser, 
that is waiting for them.

Scene 11
Atlantis

The storm toads are waging war against the Home Guard forces.  Maser 
fire is ripping up the ground and terrain.  The Home Guard is using all 
resources, including Heavy Assault Units.  Older Allura is in the 
middle of the fight as well, with her sword in one hand and a blaster 
in the other.  She slashes a toad and spins around to shoot another.  
She looks up and sees a toad double bubble smash into the castle.  A 
cheer rises up among the toads as the central tower of the castle 
collapses in on itself.

Older Allura
(thinking as she continues the fight)
<This is worse than my dimension!  I fear that Atlantis might lose this 
fight.>

In Space…

The remainder of the fleet is racing through space as fast as it can.  
On the lead cruiser, a confrontation is occurring.

Shar
(yelling)
”Damn it, Lance!  The order came from the Throne!”

Kinjite
(yelling back)
”We weren’t suppose to leave without the Council at lest!  Those were 
the orders approved by King Hwang!”

Shar 
“The frelling planet is being invaded you stupid cat!  This isn’t about 
your damn image or your vengeance!”

Kinjite
*I have never put my frelling image before the planet or our people!  I 
complete my missions!”

Shar
“Yeah, your all mighty missions!  Apparently they are more important 
than helping Ayami!”

Kinjite suddenly grabs Shar, lifts him over his head, and slams him 
into the ground, hard enough to make a dent.  He raises his fist and it 
is covered in spikes of light and dark.

Kinjite
(hissing evilly)
”If you ever dare to question my feelings for Ayami or my daughter 
again, they will have to make a cybernetic brain to keep you alive!”

Shar
(hissing back)
”It was a mistake for her to marry you!  She was suppose to marry me!”

Kinjite smashes his fist into the ground next to Shar’s head.  There is 
a small explosion and a small piece of Shar’s ear is blown off, 
revealing wiring and metal.  A female, standing by the door quickly 
steps forward, paw on a blaster on her hip.  Kinjite yanks Shar to his 
feet, holding him at eye level.

Kinjite
(coldly)
”She made a choice.  Deal with it!”
(turns to the female and drops Shar)
“How long until we return home?”

Female
“At present speed, forty minutes.”

Kinjite
(trying to calm down)
”Are we at maximum mark?”

Female
“No, sir.”

Kinjite
“How much faster if we travel at maximum?”

Shar
(standing)
”It will shave fifteen minutes, but we may not be able to have our 
forces ready all the way.”

Kinjite
(looking at him)
”Up it to max and we will do it *my* way now.”

Shar
(with a spat)
”And what way is that?”

Kinjite
(walking away)
”Shar, you were a Chosen at one time.  Don’t be an idiot and use your 
brain.”

Kinjite walks out the door and the Female walks up to Shar.  She sees 
him smiling.  She gently takes his paw and looks into his eyes.

Female
(concerned)
”Shar, are you alright?”

Shar
(looking at her)
”I’m fine, Chelsea.  You heard his orders.  Let’s go.”

Chelsea nods and they both run out the door.

A few minutes later, in the launch bay…

Kinjite looks up from a screen as Shar walks up to him.

Kinjite
(firmly)
”Are you here to fight me or fight for the damn planet?”

Shar
(firmly)
”As far as I am concerned about you, you can go to hell.  I am here to 
help my home world.  What are your plans?”

Kinjite
(nodding)
”Feelings mutual and fair enough.”
(turns to the screen)
”Everyone is in the shelter tunnels and the Home Guard is pulling back 
to seal the tunnels.”

Shar
(nodding)
”Good idea.  Those tunnels were designed to be damn near impenetrable 
once sealed.  They can only be opened from the inside.”

Kinjite
“Good.  Do we have a way to communicate with them inside the tunnels?”

Shar
(thinks for a second and nods)
”Yeah, there is a comm. station inside them.  I can transmit to them.  
Why?”

A soldier, in power armor stomps up and salutes both of them.

Soldier
“Ion missiles ready  As are the block buster clusters, Sirs!”

Kinjite nods and the soldier stomps away.  Shar looks at him in 
disbelief.

Shar
(stunned)
”We’re going to bomb our own world?”

Kinjite points at the screen and Shar looks.  He sees the toads all 
over and the castle, city, and industrial zones are all in ruins.

Kinjite
(quietly)
”The toads already did bomb it.  I heard that the tunnels were being 
sealed, before I made this choice.”
(looks at Shar)
”Your knowledge of the strength of the tunnels made the choice easier 
to deal with.  Let’s get busy, robo-cat.”

Kinjite flips off the monitor and they  start towards the fighters.

Shar
(irritated)
”I hate that nickname.”

On Atlantis…

Ayami is sitting against the wall and can feel the ground shaking from 
the battle.  She looks down at the Younger Allura in her arms.  The 
wall shakes a little more and they both look up.  A soldier walks up to 
them.

Soldier
(quietly)
”The last of the Home Guard pulled back into the Tunnels.  We just 
sealed them, Tenchi Ayami  IF they break in here…”

His voice trails off and Ayami nods.

Ayami
(quietly)
”I understand.  Thank you.”

The Soldier nods and walks off.  Ayami gently holds Younger Allura to 
her.  She  sees an injured Older Allura walking towards them.

Ayami
(thinking to herself)
”Lance, please come home and help us!”

Older Allura sits by her and Ayami puts an arm around her as well.  The 
group huddles quietly as they feel slight vibrations in the ground.

Scene 12
Space above Atlantis

The Atlantean fleet approaches the planet.  There is large amounts of 
wreckage from toad fighters and cruisers floating around.  Kinjite 
surveys the read out and lowers his head.  He looks at Shar and Shar 
nods back.  Kinjite reaches up and activates the comm.

Kinjite
(solemnly)
”Attention Atlantean fleet, this is Master Oni Lance.  It is true, the 
toads invaded our world and were able to get through the defenses.  
Those we love are held up in the Shelter Tunnels.  We lost the battle 
of Genus and know we are faced with the battle for our home world.”
(takes a deep breath and looks at Shar, while speaking in the com)
”It is time we put aside our petty fighting and concerns.  This is a 
fight we can’t retreat from.  If we try to retreat, we loose our home, 
our loved ones, and any hope of surviving this war.  Therefore… I am 
initiating the Onyx Order.  We will fight to the last cat.  May the 
Goddesses forgive me for this.”

He lets go of the com and drops into the chair.

Shar
(quietly)
”The Onyx Order?  Are you sure that things are that bad?”

Kinjite
(quietly)
”I am open for suggestions, Shar.”

Shar
“I just want to make sure you realize what you are doing.”

Kinjite
(snapping)
”Yes I know what the Onyx Order means!  I just condemned all of us to 
death, if we don’t win!  Right now, failure is not an option!  We lose, 
we lose our world and our loved ones on that damn world, Shar!”

A male walks up and looks at the two cats.  He reaches into his side 
pouch and pulls out two syringes, full of a silver liquid.  He hands 
them to Kinjite and Shar.  He bows slightly and walks away silently and 
continues passing out syringes.  The two of them look at the syringes 
in their paws.

Shar
(quietly)
”So this is what death looks like.  I didn’t think it would be so 
shiny.”

Kinjite
(nodding)
”You’ll learn that death looks like that which we don’t expect it to 
look like.”
(looks up at Shar and sees Chelsea walk up behind him, also holding a 
syringe)
“Shar, I know you hate me and always will hate me, because you think 
that I took Ayami from you.  I’m sorry.”

Shar
(nodding)
”Yeah, so am I.  I never really gave you a chance.  I figured you were 
a hot shot from the day you first showed up.”

Chelsea puts a paw on Shar’s shoulder and he slips an arm around her 
waist.  They look at Kinjite.  Kinjite is holding the syringe and 
looking around.  Everyone on the bridge is watching him, each holding a 
syringe as well.  He looks at the screen and sees the images of the 
grounds.  He taps the left side of his armor and it flips open, 
revealing a holding container.  He sets the syringe in there and shuts 
the panel.

Kinjite
(quietly)
”Everyone, load up and stand by.  Inject once we are in atmosphere and 
as you need it.”

There is the sounds of several compartments opening and closing in the 
bridge.  With each one, Kinjite flinches.  As the last one closes, a 
panel slides open on the control panel, beside Kinjite.  He looks at 
the button and shudders.  Shar steps up beside him.

Shar
(quietly)
”It means that every Atlantean has inserted the syringe and are ready 
to die for their world.  Only the fleet leader can push it.”

Kinjite looks at the button again and memories flashes through his mind 
of the ranks of Atlantean soldiers standing before him at the Palace.

Kinjite
(whispering)
”I lived for four hundred years in the world of darkness, fought things 
that make the worst of nightmares seem pleasant, and yet this scares 
the crap out of me.”

He looks around the room again and sees all the cats watching him and 
waiting.  He swallows gently and raises his hand.

Everyone
(firmly)
”For Atlantis, *our* world and home!”

Kinjite
(whispering)
”For Atlantis, may they forgive me.”

His paw slams down on the button.

Computer Voice
(over loud speakers on all battle cruisers)
“Attention all Atlantean soldiers.  Safety on all syringe inserts has 
been removed and all injection panels are activated.”

Everyone lowers their heads and there is silence in the room.  Kinjite 
slowly stands up and looks around.

Kinjite
(firmly)
”Let’s take our frelling world back and show those damn toads just how 
pissed off we really are!”

With that he storms out the doors, followed by Shar, Chelsea, and other 
soldiers.

On the Ground…

The toads are setting up encampments.  One of them looks up as he hears 
a whistling sound.  A streak of white light shoots out of the sky and 
slams into the ground, with an enormous explosion.  Toad bodies and 
equipment is flung around.  Several other streaks come from the sky and 
there are several other explosions.

Toad #1
(yelling)
”Who is that?”

Toad #2
(yelling back)
”It has to be the remains of the fleet!  Their making a last ditch 
effort to save their….”

His words are cut off as a missile streaks down and slams into the 
ground at their feet.  Several fighters and drop ships come racing out 
of the sky and across the surface.  The fighters’ gun turrets blazing 
away at any thing that moves or works for the toads.  The back of the 
drop ships snap open and several soldiers leap from them.  Several of 
the soldiers slap their wrist.  In their sides, a needle shoots up and 
the silvery liquid is injected into their lungs.  It instantly become a 
mist and is absorbed through the lungs, into veins and arteries.  The 
soldiers slam into the ground and take off at amazing speeds towards 
the toads, leaving trails of dust in their wakes.  The toads open fire 
on them as they approach and the maser blast rip into them, but they 
keep coming.

Storm Toad
(yelling as he shoots)
”What are they?!  The reports from Genus said they weren’t this 
strong!”

A soldier leaps up and comes down on the toad.  He drives the toad to 
the ground, rips the blaster rifle from his grip, smashes him in the 
face, and flings his lifeless body aside.  The soldier lunges towards 
another toad, as maser fire rips through his chest.

Elsewhere…

A toad is steering an armored personnel carrier towards a group of 
soldiers.  One of them leaps through the air and slams into the front 
of the vehicle.  Several others quickly join her, as she smashes her 
fist through the plated windshield.  She pulls the toad through the 
hole and flings him like a rag doll.

On a drop ship…

Kinjite and Shar are reading a quick print out.

Shar
(angrily)
“Those kind of explosives will bring down the tunnels!  The toads 
weren’t going to take any prisoners!  They planned on wiping us out!”

Kinjite
(nodding)
”Looks like it.  Not on our shift though!”

He quickly gives some coordinates to the pilot and turns to the back of 
the drop ship.  Shar is right behind him as they walk to the back.  
There is a red light by the bay door.  They wait as the terrain flies 
by.  They see  toads and Atlantean soldiers in combat all over.  This 
time it is looking like the Atlantean forces are in charge.  Suddenly 
the light goes green.

Kinjite
(yelling)
”It is time!”

He leaps just as Shar leaps.  They both slap their wrist on the way 
down.  They slam down on their feet and are off running, before they 
even finish bending their knees to absorb the impact.

Shar
(running)
“Master Oni Lance!  It just occurred to me, that we never tested this 
stuff on cats like you and me!  We don’t know what will happen!”

Kinjite
(running)
”Does it really matter right now?!  Ayami is in those tunnels as is my 
daughter!”

Shar nods as they streak across the ground, heading towards the tunnels.

At the tunnels…

A toad is placing a charge on the doors and setting it.

Toad
“There is enough explosive in this charge to take out a mother ship!  
This should tear the doors off!”

Squad Leader
(nodding)
”Good, I want all those cats killed in there as well!”

Just then, Shar and Kinjite leaped over a hill and come crashing down 
among the toads, scattering them.  The toad setting the charge bumps 
the activation button and the timer begins.  Shar and Kinjite quickly 
start tearing through the toads, scattering bodies everywhere as they 
go.  They quickly run the toads into the ground and look around.  They 
both spot the charge at the same time.  Kinjite quickly examines it and 
looks at Shar.

Kinjite
(quicklky)
”Do you know anything about explosives?!”

Shar
(shaking his head)
”Not really, just enough to know what that will do!”

Kinjite looks around quickly and then back at Shar.

Kinjite
“How far to the disposal site?”

Shar
(after a second)
”To far, even at the enhanced speed!”

Kinjite quickly grabs the bomb.

Kinjite
(pulling the bomb off the doors)
”Clear the tunnels!”

Shar sends a quick transmission and the doors swing open.  The Guards 
on the inside sigh with relief when they see them.

Shar
(yelling)
”We don’t have time for this!  Everyone out now!  MOVE IT!”

Confused Atlantean cats start running out the doors.  Ayami and both 
Alluras run out as well.  Kinjite looks down at the timer.  His eye 
widens as he sees there is less than a minute.

Ayami
(running up)
”Everyone’s out!  What’s going on?!”

Kinjite kisses her quickly and dashes into the tunnels with the bomb.

Kinjite
(yelling over his shoulder)
”I don’t have time to talk!”

Shar stands there shocked for a second.  He quickly shakes his head.

Shar
(yelling)
”Get away from the tunnels! GO!”

Everyone quickly runs from the tunnels.  Older Allura scoops up younger 
Allura and runs with her.  Ayami runs up to Shar.

Ayami
(demanding)
”What is going on!?”

Shar
(lunging into the tunnel)
”I don’t have time to talk!”

He quickly runs down the tunnel as well.  Ayami just stands there and 
shakes her head, before running down the tunnel as well.

Down the tunnel…

Kinjite is running at top speed and bouncing off the walls in corners.  
He has the bomb tucked under his arm as he runs.  The timer shows ten 
seconds left as he runs.

Kinjite
(thinking)
<I have to get deep enough!  I guess this is payback for the Onyx 
Order!"

As he sprints he urges himself to go faster as he streaks down the 
tunnel.

Above ground…

Older Allura looks around as she holds onto Younger Allura. The King 
and Queen run up to her.

King
(demanding)
”Where is Master Oni Lance?!”

Older Allura
(worried)
”He ran into the tunnels with an explosive!”

Suddenly the grounds shakes violently and dust shoots out the tunnel 
entrance. Older Allura just stands there shocked as younger Allura 
buries her face on her shoulder.

Underground…

Ayami is thrown as the shockwave rips through the ground. An arm 
catches her, before she hits the wall. She opens her eyes and sees Shar 
standing there.

Shar
(angrily)
”What are you doing in here?!”

Ayami
(standing up)
”Trying to find out what my husband is doing!”

Shar shakes his head and his eye refocuses down the hall.

Shar
(gruffly)
”Hopefully staying alive!”

They start running down the hall.

Farther down the tunnel…

Kinjite slowly opens his eye. He looks at the large boulder sitting on 
his torso and pinning his arms. He feels a sticky wetness running down 
the side of his head and his back. He looks around and sees a rock 
above him shift.

Kinjite
(to himself)
”Looks like this is the end. At least I know I won’t become that 
monster that Allura helped me fight.”

He tries to summon his magic, but there is no response. He sighs and 
relaxes. The rock shifts again and slides closer.

Kinjite
“I’m sorry Ayami.”

The rock comes free and falls towards his head. It suddenly explodes 
into dust and showers his face with it. Kinjite tries to turn his head. 
Suddenly Ayami slides to a stop beside him. Shar approaches and looks 
at him.

Shar
“We need to talk about your plans.”

Kinjite looks around and sees cracks spreading. He turns to Ayami

Kinjiite
(firmly)
”Ayami, you need to get out of here!”

Ayami
(firmly)
”I’m not leaving without you!”

Shar grabs her shoulders and pulls her up.

Shar
(firmly)
”I’ll get him out and we’ll be right behind you. You need to go! Your 
daughter needs you!”

Ayami looks at him and then to Kinjite. She bites her lower lip and 
nods. She sprints down the tunnel. Both males are quiet until she is 
gone. Shar looks down at Kinjite.

Kinjite
“So what is it going to be? You could leave me here or you can help 
me.”

Shar sits down beside him. They look at each other, up at the spreading 
cracks, and back to each other.

Shar
(quietly)
“That is a good question. You know that really hurt me when you slammed 
me into the floor on the battle cruiser. Our laws state that if you do 
something that actually hurts me physically, I have the right to hurt 
you back and it doesn’t have to be of equal level either.”

Kinjite nods and lays his head back.

Kinjite
(quietly)
”You’re right. I also know that the law says I can try to explain my 
actions, but I won’t. They were out of line.”

Shar lays back against the rock and sighs.

Shar
(laughing a little)
”Funny if you think about it. About seven years ago, I led a charge 
that cost me three quarters of my body and you got beat up by a cyborg. 
Yet everyone claims that victory is because of you. Now seven years 
later, here we are again. Everyone will probably say that this battle 
is won because of you.”

Kinjite
(nodding)
”That is the curse I bear. That is what I am stuck with for having 
Priestess Ayeka as my mother.”

Shar
(looking at Kinjite)
”So she really was your mother? How did you survive for four hundred 
years?”

Kinjite
(quietly)
”I was sealed in the world of darkness by the Aldebaran Sister Hood for 
a crime I did.”

Shar
(curious)
”The all mighty Master Oni Lance committed a crime? What was it?”

Kinjite sighs and looks up at the cybernetic cat in front of him. He 
sees that several patches of fur have been torn away, revealing the 
metallic endoskeleton and wiring. At one time, he considered this cat 
an opponent, but not anymore.

Kinjite
(quietly)
”I killed thirty-six assassin sisters and half the Sister Hood. They 
felt I was a threat and attacked me. It was during the battle, they 
sealed me away.”

Shar
“But not before you killed that many?”

Kinjite nods and lays his head down. He looks up at Shar again and 
smirks.

Shar
“What?”

Kinjite
(chuckling)
”Just thinking of how ironic this is. I almost died in my first fight 
on this planet, because of a cyborg. Now I came here to save this 
planet again, because of a cyborg.”

Shar smiles and nods.

Shar
(standing up)
”Let’s just see how strong this cyborg really is and see if we can get 
you back into Ayami’s arms, old cat!”

Kinjite
(chuckling)
”Old enough to be your great grand father, robo-cat!”

Shar laughs as he digs his metallic claws under the rock and grunts as 
he lifts.

Outside…

Ayami stumbles out into the daylight, coughing in the dust. Older 
Allura spots her and runs up to her. Younger Allura runs up as well and 
they both hug her.

Older Allura
(worried)
”Are you alright, mom?”

Younger Allura
(worried as well)
”Where’s daddy at?”

Ayami looks down the tunnel and waits, with her arms around her 
daughters. Time passes by and other Atlanteans walk up beside her. 
Several minutes go by and in a rumbling roar, the tunnel collapses. 
Suddenly there is a coughing sound from the tunnel. Shar comes walking 
out, supporting Kinjite over his shoulders. Ayami runs up and takes 
Kinjite’s other arm and drapes it over her shoulder and helps support 
him. Older Allura turns and motions for the medical crew to come. They 
run up and quickly place Kinjite on the stretcher. He looks at Shar and 
laughs a little.

Kinjite
(smiling)
”They may think I am the hero, but at least you don’t have to be 
carried on a stretcher.”

Shar shakes his head and steps back, as the crew lift the stretcher and 
head towards the temporary medical facility. Ayami and her daughters 
follow as well. Shar just stands there and watches her go. He shakes 
his head and sighs.

Shar
(to himself)
”He’s right, she did make a choice. I did say I would support any 
choices she made.”

He looks over and sees Chelsea walking towards him and smiles.

Shar
(thinking)
<At lest I have someone who worries about me.>

He puts an arm around her shoulders and they walk towards the medical 
facility.

Scene 13
Atlantis, a few days later

The repair crews are working on the castle.  There were a few houses 
found in mostly one piece and turned into shelters.  There are several 
small tent towns around as well.  In the Medical Facility,  the wounded 
have been taken care of.  It is night time and Kinjite is sitting in a 
chair in front of the tent he is staying in.  He looks up from the 
casualty paper work as he hears footsteps.  Older Allura walks up, her 
arm bandaged and her head wrapped a little.

Older Allura
(walking up)
”What are you reading?”

Kinjite
(calmly)
”The casualty report from the Onyx Order I gave.”

Older Allura
(curious)
”Onyx Order?  What is that?”

Kinjite
(folding up the paper)
“It is a special chemical made by our scientist that allows us to 
perform impossible feats in combat and strength.”

Older Allura
“And it is deadly to us?”

Kinjite
(shaking his head)
”It self isn’t deadly.  What it allows us to do is quite deadly.  It 
doesn’t allow our bodies to absorb all the damage that the feats cause 
on us, just half of the damage.”

Allura nods and shifts her feet nervously as the silence guilds.  
Kinjte looks at her an dstudies the bandages.

Kinjite
“Got a little banged up?”

Older Allura
(nodding)
”They say it isn’t serious, but wanted me to get it wrapped up to be 
sure.  How are you doing?”

Kinjite 
(looking at his multiple bandages)
”I’ll be alright.  Ayami is watching over me like a mother hen.  Did 
you want to see her?  She’s laying down in the tent.”

Older Allura
(shaking her head)
”No, I came to talk to you.  Allura knows who I am.  She overheard me 
talk to mom about it.”

Kinjite
(nodding)
”It was going to happen sooner or later.  How does it make you feel, 
though?”

Older Allura
(sitting beside him)
”Feels weird actually.  She’s taking up calling me her big sister and 
mom picked it up as well.”

Kinjite
(smiling)
”Well, you are her daughter and you are older than Allura.  So, that 
kind of makes you her older sister, if you think about it.”

He looks over and sees her wiping a tear from her eye.

Kinjite
(putting a paw on her shoulder)
”What’s wrong?”

Older Allura
“I actually had a younger sister.  She use to follow me everywhere and 
wanted to do so much with me.  Then that monster I had for a father 
killed her.  I never thought of any of the other Alluras I met as a 
sister.”

Kinjite
(squeezing her shoulder)
”Your war is over, Allura.  You said you would settle down and try to 
live a normal life.  Ayami loves having you around.”

Older Allura
“But I am old enough to be her grandmother!”

Kinjite
(nodding)
”Yes, but you call her mom.  That is why.  It makes her feel like she 
has two daughters.”

Kinjite slowly stands up and stretches a little.

Older Allura
(looking at him)
”What about you?  How do you feel when I call you dad?”

Kinjite
(smiling)
”Like I do when Allura calls me dad.  I feel like a father.  Why?”

Older Allura
“It doesn’t bother you that I am as old as you are?”

Kinjite
(shaking his head)
”Nope, I choose to over look that number.  Perhaps someday, I’ll 
explain it to you, but I feel like getting some sleep.  There’s room in 
the tent if you want to sleep with us.”

Older Allura
“I’m not sure, but thanks for the offer.”

Suddenly, to her surprise, Kinjite leans over and kisses her on the 
forehead.

Kinjite
(standing up)
”See you in the morning then.”

He walks into the tent and Older Allura just sits there.

Awhile later…

Kinjite is laying on the sleeping bag, with Ayami to one side of him 
and Younger Allura between them.  He hears the tent flap open and lifts 
his head.  He sees Older Allura silently step in.  She looks around and 
sees him looking at her.  He smiles and pats an open sleeping bag 
beside him and she smiles.  She quietly steps over and lies down.

Older Allura
(quietly)
”Thanks, dad.”

She curls up beside him and quickly falls asleep.  Kinjite lays his 
head down and closes his eye.

Kinjite
(thinking to himself)
<I figured she would come around eventually.>

On Genus…

Toadborg and the Air Marshall are standing before KOMPLEX.

KOMPLEX
“I see.  It would appear there are more secrets to this Atlantean race 
than we thought.”

Toadborg
“Yes KOMPLEX, they seem to be of higher tech than the other mammals are.  
I believe we should approach them with more caution.”

KOMPLEX
“I agree Toadborg.  Air Marshal, I want  you to set up a patrol near 
that planet and monitor that feline race.  It could spell trouble, if 
they team up with the few remaining UAC fleet members that are out 
there.”

Air Marshal
(saluting)
”Yes KOMPLEX!  Right away!”

He turns and runs out the door.  Toadborg turns and watches him.

KOMPLEX
(evilly)
”Yes, I want that black cat and all of his allies watched very 
carefully.”
